I’ve known Taelor for a few years now since she is in the band and is friends with my oldest son, Ryan, so I was thrilled when she asked me to take her senior photos. A few days after we booked her session she also asked if I could take some shots of her entire family, well of course we can do that too, so we met up on a lovely saturday afternoon and took some pics. They’ve already seen them but I wanted to post just a few of my personal favorites.
Smart, beautiful & talented……a total triple threat! Best of luck at A&M this fall, Taelor. We’re going to miss you around here!

I loved this one of little brother surrounded by his 3 older sisters with the look of utter safety & contentment on his sweet little face

I’m busy getting ready to shoot a wedding this weekend and am looking forward to it with such great anticipation! I hope to begin posting pics from the special day as soon as I have time to sit & sift through what I’m sure is to be hundreds of photos to keep checking back.

I know I talk occasionally about my church family at Crosspoint Fellowship and how they great they are and I promise I wouldn’t do that unless I really meant it. We have such a nice diversity of membership there of retirees, military families, young families, students, you name it and the Johnsons are one of those invaluable families to Crosspoint Fellowship. Kasey heads up the Clubhouse which is the birth-kinder aged kids and Johnny helps out with the older kids in the Warehouse. I get to watch their sweet little girl each sunday in the nursery and I just adore her too. A friend of the Johnson’s bought them a photo session with me as thanks for watching their dog and after many months of trying, we were finally able to meet up a few weeks ago on what was shaping up to be a lovely spring day but instead we arrived to New Braunfels to find a chilly breeze. They were troopers as we hiked around the park for a while snapping some shots and thankfully my new studio came in VERY handy on a chilly day such as this. We drove the short mile there and took a few more shots of Maddie in a much warmer environment for her 1st birthday portraits. Thank you Johnson Family, I had such a fun afternoon with you guys!
What a beautiful family!

Loved this one, though it would be fun to look back on the photo years from now to see the height difference at 1 yr. old.

Still waiting on the Bluebonnets to begin blooming but will hopefully begin seeing the little beauties within a week or two. I’m booking family & high school senior sessions for the remainder of March, April & May so now is the time to book & lock in the day & time of your choice. You can contact me through the comments below, the contact link above or by calling me at (210)363-1991. Hope to hear from you soon!

It’s been such a pleasure watching this little one grow up along with her 2 big sisters. Noelle just turned 1 on monday so she & mommy met me at the studio for a few quick photos to document the momentous day so here are a few sneak peeks for them……..

Nothing like ending the session with a big hearty giggle!! Happy 1st birthday Sweet Noelle.

……I’m uploading images from a session and then I run across one that literally makes my heart leap with joy. Tonight this one was it. Little Brother in the midst & safety of his 3 big sisters. At that moment I just don’t think it got any better for him.

Ok, so if what Mr. Weatherman says is true we should have a bumper crop of wildflowers this spring due to the exceptionally cold & wet winter we’ve had this year and I couldn’t be happier about that news!!!! You see, I’ve had my photography biz for 2 years and guess what? Yep, NO wildflowers the past 2 springs which really really stunk because you don’t know how badly I’m wanting to shoot photos out in the midst of a massive field of Texas Bluebonnets! It shouldn’t be long before the little darlings are sprouting up so I’ll keep my eyes open and hope to find a big field of them somewhere where folks don’t mind if I use it every now & then for photos. If you locals (Schertz, Cibolo, New Braunfels) folks see any pretty fields of flowers I’d love to hear about it!
Wildflower season is typically mid-late March & early April so if you’d like to book a wildflower session (even booking contingent on finding wildflowers is fine) then I’d recommend you do so now because between baseball, Spring Break, a wedding next month & sessions, my weekends are filling fast. I have plenty of weekday afternoons open though! Hope to hear from you soon.

Yesterday was an exciting day. I had the very first photo session in my brand new studio! I just picked the keys up on friday so as of right now, the space isn’t much to look at but I sure am loving the light there and the location rocks too. The studio is on the 2nd floor of the old historic Schmidt Building and you can read more about it’s history and what’s going on downstairs from my studio on the ground floor is the building here. When I met with the owners of the building and they told me a bit about it’s history I was instantly sold and it doesn’t hurt that it’s smack dab in the thick of things in charming downtown New Braunfels so I’m going to love spending time there. Thank you to my friend Staci & her daughter Mariah for being so willing to be my first studio clients, Mariah is gorgeous and she rocked it!! Enjoy your sneak peeks!
My first studio image, is she gorgeous or what?!! Go Canyon Cougars!

Another studio fave.

After a few studio shots we went down to the street level & had fun shooting downtown, so many opportunities there!

Took a few fun mother/daughter shots too!

Just LOOK at these eyes! Magical.

I promise to post pics of the studio space as soon as it’s all set up & has that nice “lived in” look! I’ve moved a few things in but have a long way to go but am already booking studio sessions so don’t hesitate to let me know if you’re interested in reserving your date/time slot since senior sessions will begin kicking in soon and space will fill up fast. Hope to hear from you soon!

I first met Shea & Debbie 2 years ago at Silver Bella. As fate would have it we shared a class together and sat next to one another and proceeded to bond & enjoy our 2 hrs of class time together as they told me all about how they ended up moving from California to Dallas and about the old church they were in the process of renovating into their home. Say no more, I was completely intrigued. I began to follow their blog as Debbie was documenting the process of the renovation through blog posts & photos and I was longing for the day I’d finally be able to visit the church in person. They hosted a holiday event in the church last winter that I wasn’t able to attend but thankfully I was able to make the trip up I-35 to go to Heart & Communion earlier this month. As excited as I was about the 2 awesome classes and seeing many dear Silver Bella friends, I was just as excited to see the church and what they had done to transform the large building into a home. I love to watch Flip This House and would secretly love to have the funds to do that on a regular basis to worn down homes & buildings so that whole process just fascinates me! I was thrilled that Debbie took the time to take us through the entire home the last evening of the event and show us everything they had done or are in the process of doing to the church. One word………AMAZING. See for yourself.

Above is the main living area which is where the sanctuary used to be. Debbie is in the process of re-doing all of the stained glass windows.

This was taken in the upstairs area which the girls have turned into their studio. There were chandeliers & gorgeous views EVERYWHERE!

This was taken from the balcony on the other side of the main living area where the choir used to sing. Isn’t the decor GORGEOUS!!

Our work table & project of day 2, beautiful silk-wrapped chandeliers.

When crafty girls gather of COURSE there have to be fabulous swaps!

Another beautiful vignette from the girls’ studio loft.

Some of Shea’s fabulous crown collection on display in the main living room.

We were taught to make jewerly such as this by Bella friends Natalie Hansen and Lonnie Jenck on day 1 and now I think we’re all addicted, SO much fun!

Gotta love women who aren’t afraid to use sanders, irons & torches to create beautiful works of art!

The entire gang! Thanks to all of you & especially to Debbie, Shea & Family for inviting us into you beautiful home for art & communion!

A few weeks ago I was asked to do headshots for a young girl who is interested in persuing acting & such and she needed some headshots for her portfolio. Her mom wanted them to be very relaxed & outdoorsy so I met them at their home and we had fun taking pretty photos in their backyard. I had NO idea she was going to wear pink and had just happened to bring along my trusty pink wooden chair and a pretty old quilt I scored recently at a local craft mall and they worked just perfectly for some of the shots! Of course I felt the need to emphasize her baby blues & lovely smile so I hope the photos bring her luck because she is sure a talented lovely girl, inside & out.

I’m also THRILLED to announce that I’m hoping to sign a lease on studio space this week so I will also be able to provide indoor studio natural light photography along with my usual on-location photography. The space is big & bright with 2 large windows and I can’t wait to move in and make it my own! I promise to post pics soon as soon as I’m able to so you can see it for yourself to keep checking back!

Mama Holly has been waiting patiently so I wanted to post a few sneak peeks of her precious long-awaited bundle of joy, you might remember her maternity session. I went to their beautiful home for some photos of Baby Ethan at 11 days old because his great-grandfather who is 90 years young was visiting from New York and they were both as charming as can be! Little guy didn’t want to sleep but that’s ok, we made the best of it since he was very relaxed & patient with us as we changed his outfits & moved him around. What a little trooper! Congrats Holly & Brad, your little man is simply precious…..

Baby E with Mama & Great Grandfather

A quick cozy catnap!

I’m excited that business is back up & running after the holiday hiatus. The break was nice but it’s also been wonderful to get back in the groove and shoot some fun sessions with some awesome people and the Garza family was no exception! Tamanya found me online, she lives in Philadelphia, but the rest of her family is here in Texas. She was going to be in San Antonio for 5 days and really wanted to have family portraits taken since it’d been 10 yrs. since they’d had a family photo taken. With it being January and all I was a bit nervous & praying that the weather would cooperate with us since we only had a few days to work with but gratefully the day we were scheduled to meet the sun was shining & the temps nice & warm so we were blessed indeed! They wanted a natural relaxed setting so we met at the park and had a fun afternoon walking around & getting to know each other so I wanted to post a few sneak peeks for them. Enjoy & thank you!
the sweet Philly girl who found & hired me!

the Garza family

Business is picking up and will be back in full swing soon as the weather here in South Texas is already warming up and spring flowers will be sprouting before we know it so if you’re considering booking a session either for your high school senior, your family or your children now is the time to book & lock in the date of your choice! With the spring comes busy baseball season for our family so my weekend dates will be limited due to baseball tournaments out of town and I know that it’s easiest for many familes to shoot on the weekend because of work and all so contact me soon if you’re interested. You can contact me here through my blog or you can also email me directly at browneyedgirlphotography@yahoo.com. Hope to hear from you soon!
