Winter at The Prairie by Rachel Ashwell

Winter time is such a quiet, unique time in the country at Rachel Ashwell’s bed & breakfast in Round Top, Texas called The Prairie. I’ve adored Rachel’s style and all things Shabby Chic since I first discovered it years ago and when I learned she had opened up & styled her own B&B just a few hours away from me, I KNEW I had to stay there eventually! My first opportunity came in the winter time when the town & property is quiet and there isn’t much going on which is quite a dramatic contrast from the hectic days of antique week in April and October when the tiny town swells from population 90 to 60,000! I pulled onto the dirt roads of The Prairie on a chilly evening to find myself being the only person staying there that night which oddly enough, I didn’t find spooky or scary at all! The property and rooms were so cozy and I was quickly greeted by the sweetest kitty who followed me everywhere I went so she helped to keep me company. I settled in and quickly made myself at home by taking a warm bath in the vintage clawfoot bathtub and snuggling in under the mounds of luxurious dreamy soft bed linens in the Lilliput Lodge while the temperatures dropped and winds blew outdoors and before I knew it, I was sleeping like a kitten. I roamed the property the next morning and snapped a few pictures to share so enjoy taking a peek of The Prairie through the lens of my camera…….oh, and P.S……..if you’re planning a wedding or event at The Prairie and are looking for a photographer, I’m your girl.;-)

Congrats to Matt & Bree! {New Braunfels Wedding Photography}

God definitely shone down on Matt & Bree’s wedding day. Just the day before it was terribly chilly & rainy and even when I showed up to Boulder Springs on the wedding day, it was still cloudy and a bit cool but as the ceremony approached the clouds parted, temperatures warmed and the sun came out and blessed the day and their union with His lovely light. See for yourselves……

Wedding Sneak Peeks for J & K! {New Braunfels Wedding Photographer}

I felt so blessed to work with Kristina & Josh. The first time we met and worked together for their engagement photo session in Gruene we immediately clicked and they were just so fun and easy to photograph and their chemistry was undeniable. I normally have to coach and sometimes beg the guys to kiss or hug their fiancees but not Josh! Their love shone through in their engagement images so I knew their wedding was going to be fun to photograph as well and it WAS. They were married on a lovely day at an even lovelier church in New Braunfels and had their reception at the Seekatz Opera House right down the street and the whole day could not have been any more beautiful. Enjoy some moments of their special day taken through my camera lens……

Miss Paisley is turning ONE! {San Antonio Child Photographer}

My name is Paisley Marie and I’m turning one in January so my mommy wanted to do a fun cake smash photo shoot to celebrate my big day. She made this pretty sign and brought balloons and pretty things to decorate my photo shoot and they made me happy!

She bought me this pretty fancy outfit and I loved being the center of attention in it!

It even says my name on my hiney which I think is pretty cute!

I loved sitting on this fancy shiny blanket and felt like a little princess which of course I am!

I was such a good girl and posed and smiled for pictures but all I could think about was my pretty pink birthday cake…….

After some pictures they FINALLY let me dig into my special birthday cake they made just for ME with pretty pink frosting…….my favorite.

I tried to be very dainty and neat about eating my cake but then my mommy came over and smashed my hand into the cake. What? I can eat this buttercream goodness by the handfuls?? YUMMY!!

After a while Mommy decided it was time to take my cake away and that did NOT make this princess very happy at all!!

But then I saw there was frosting left on the table which made me happy again. Score and happy birthday to ME!!!!

Engagement Sneak Peeks for A&J {Schertz Wedding Photographer}

I’ve known Ashley and her family for many years now since we go to the same church and I’ve enjoyed watching her grow into such a lovely young lady so I was thrilled when she asked if I would be her wedding photographer! We met up in Gruene last weekend for their engagement session and I had fun watching them be so playful & cute with each other and they make THE cutest couple. Enjoy your sneak peeks, guys, and I’m really looking forward to your March 2015 wedding at Zedler Mill!
