Sneak Peek for Ryan & Peggy {Schertz engagement photography}

Let me paint the picture for you……..lovely country farm that’s been in the family since the early 1900s, rolling green pastures, dozens of cattle, tin buildings, hay bales, windmills & cool old rusty farm equipment everywhere you look all lit up by lovely late-September evening daylight. It was such a lovely serene setting for Ryan & Peggy’s family & engagement photo shoot and I felt right at home there. See, I was raised on a farm too so having to watch out for and step over a few cow patties in my flip-flops didn’t phase me a bit! Lol. We were blessed with dry cool temps and although it was a bit breezy we made it work and I just had the best time. Enjoy your sneak peeks, Guys, and thank you for the privilidge of being your photographer!

There’s just something about windmills that I love. I think I’ve found my new favorite place to shoot. Nevermind that someone actually lives on the property, think they’d mind if I brought some clients around every now & then??! Haha. It’s hard to believe that just a few weeks ago none of the lush green grass existed & everything was dry & desolate as we were in the midst of a major drought. Happy friday to you! I’m sure you’re as ready & psyched for the weekend as I even though I will spend the majority of mine at a baseball field watching my youngest who is 11 play in his first fall tournament. Thankfully the weather is supposed to be gorgeous so we’re all ready to kick off fall baseball season! He’ll have tournaments that we’ll have to travel to nearly every weekend till early November but he literally eats, breathes & sleeps baseball so seeing him doing something he loves so much makes the sacrifices all well worth it in my book.

Last week Steve and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and although we spent it hundreds of miles apart he made up for it by bringing a dozen beautiful pale pink roses home to me when he returned from his trip. What a guy! I love fresh flowers although it’s always a bit sad when they meet their fate w/Mr. Trash Can so I always try to take a few shots of them for posterity, here’s one of my faves……

Yes, this is a real rainbow! It rained on us when the shoot began but thankfully it stopped & we were blessed.

He brought his adorable girlfriend, Tessa, along so I snapped a few shots of them together.

As I’m sitting here in my nice cool house dreading going outside because we’ve hit yet ANOTHER day of 100+ degree temps (think this makes 60+ days of 100+ temps so far this summer) I often find myself daydreaming about being back in California again. The hubby and I took a trip to Napa Valley & San Francisco last month to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary which is coming up in September and oh my, I just loved it out there. Although it did get quite warm in Napa, generally the temps were still much cooler than what we have to endure here in south Texas and the foliage & landscape there was certainly much prettier & greener than what we have to look at here thanks to the drought. As we drove into San Francisco from Napa, we watched the temps dip down 30 degrees on the car thermometer within the short drive which was pretty freaky I must say! Sure enough, we got out of the car at the top of a hill near the Golden Gate bridge and it was fa-reezing!! Even though the winds were whipping us around and were quite intense I was secretly thinking about how nice it was to be COLD again. We spent 3 days in San Francisco and I don’t think the temperature ever got above 75 degrees but was typically much cooler than that. Ahhhhhhhh!! Along w/the cool temps came the clouds & fog so we never really had a nice clear view of the bay or bridge but the fog did provide a lovely backdrop for the Golden Gate I suppose, VERY San Francisco. Was looking back through some shots from our trip to reminisce and thought I’d share some with you too. Enjoy.
