Meet Roxanne! {Schertz Senior Photographer}

First off, a BIG CONGRATS to all of the 2011 high school seniors! Graduation parties & ceremonies have come & gone and now it’s time to sort through all of the photos & memories and reminisce on a job well done. My oldest son also graduated this past weekend and it was quite the melancholy time for me……sad that he’ll be leaving the nest in a few months but grateful & happy that he was successful and has such a bright future ahead of him. Roxanne was my last senior session of the 2011 season. We had met up a month or so ago for part 1 of her session but at that time she didn’t have her letter jacket or cap & gown yet so we shot part 2 of her session on saturday morning in front of her high school which also happens to be the high school my youngest son will attend in 2 years. Congrats & best of luck to you, Roxanne……I see nothing but great things ahead for you!!!

I’ve literally watched Bailee grow up into a beautiful young lady before my very eyes. Her family lived across the street from us when we first moved to Schertz and lived there until a few years ago but she goes to the same high school as my sons so I’ve watched her cheer at many football games and run into her family from time to time so I was thrilled when asked to take her senior portraits! She chose to go to New Braunfels for her session so we met there on a warm breezy Sunday morning and had fun walking around with her family & boyfriend taking photos and dodging oncoming trains!! Meet Molly! {Schertz Senior Photographer}

I could’ve shot pictures of Molly literally all afternoon long despite the fact that we were nearly locked in at our first destination, found loads of construction equipment at the next one & then the weather went from cool & shady to warm & sunny all during her session as well! Thankfully she & her mom rolled with it and we had a great time despite our minor set-backs. Molly is dating one of my oldest son’s very best friends so he came along & I was able to take some photos of them together as some pictures of her with her sister & mother as well which is always a lot of fun. I love a girl who has a very clear path for her future as Molly does especially because she’s 18 and already knows exactly what she wants to do with her future and I’m in my 40s and am still not sure (too many choices!). Thank you for choosing me to take your senior pictures, Molly! I hope you enjoy your sneak peeks, can’t wait to show them all to you very soon!!

I easily could’ve posted ALL of Molly’s pics because she did such a fantastic job, it was hard to pick just a few! Thanks again, Molly! You’re a sweetie, inside & out.

April is a very busy month for me & then my son is graduating this year as well so I will only be taking a limited number of sessions in May so I’ll be able to prepare & spend as much time with Ryan as possible his last month of school so don’t wait too much longer to book your session, otherwise it might be too late! I knew it was going to be a fun afternoon. We show up to gorgeous weather, no one else around and a beautiful girl ready to have fun & take pretty pictures. This is MY kind of afternoon and Skylar and I had such fun walking around taking her pictures. She’s a senior at Clemens HS and has a clear plan for her future and a great head on her shoulders and I just love that about her! Senior Sneak Peek for Lauren! {Garden Ridge Senior Photographer}

I love a girl who knows exactly what she wants. I love it when I show up for a session and she already knows what she wants to wear (I was coveting her rockin’ grey boots), where she wants to wear it and how she wants to look. I showed up at Lauren’s home to take photos and she & her mother made things really easy for me. There was a plethora of awesome rustic places to shoot on their property, it was just a matter of deciding which ones to ulitize. We shot the first half of her senior session at her home and we’ll do the second half in the spring possibly utilizing a football field since she’s a cheerleader and we were both in major agreement that balloons are really cool & that we MUST use them in some shots too. I can’t wait to shoot some more photos with you, Lauren……thanks for being such a fun subject & enjoy your sneak peeks!!! (PS….I literally wanted to post EVERY single photo from your session! Love them)

It’s been a busy but great season here at Brown-Eyed Girl. I have a few more family sessions this weekend but after that, I’ll pretty much be done w/holiday sessions and am looking forward to getting all caught up & spending some down time soaking in all that is the holidays with my family and hopefully getting caught up on my shopping that I’m normally almost finished with by now! A big THANKS to this season’s clients, I appreciate & value each and every one of you and as you probably gathered by the big hug I always give everyone after each session…….once your session is done you’re no longer just a “client”, you’re now my friend. Meet Brandi!

Brandi and I hit it off right away and had such a fun evening walking around taking photos together. She was my first 2011 senior session and it made me realize how much I truly enjoy shooting seniors! I love a girl who’s confident enough to show up alone for her session in a rockin’ pick up truck, who’s also disciplined enough to put herself through school her senior year of school online and is sporting a Guns N Roses t-shirt. I knew right away we were going to have FUN. We walked around and chatted about concerts, music, the military life and just girl stuff in general all while taking lots of pretty pics. Talk about a nice way to spend an evening! Hope you enjoy your sneak peeks, Brandi……..you’ve got a great head on your shoulders and will be a major success whatever you decide to pursue and I’ll be cheering you on all the way.

Summer is Coming Sale & Prom Pics

I have some EXCITING news! For the next 48 hours I’m going to be offering my gorgeous custom canvases at 25% off their regular prices!! The sale lasts till thursday at midnight so if there’s that really special image from your session you are wishing you had printed onto canvas then NOW is the time to order. My canvases come with special dust protection and a sawtooth hanger already attached so it’s ready to be hung on your wall or perched on a special shelf as soon as it arrives. I have some of mine mixed in a wall collage going up my stairs among framed prints & scrapbook pages. I just bought a bunch of random frames, all in black so they’re cohesive, and bought those little shelves for 1/2 off at Hobby Lobby to sit my canvases on to add a bit of texture along the wall plus it makes it easy for me to grab them and taking along to show clients. I just love the way it looks:

My oldest son attended his first high school prom this past weekend and it was quite the event around here! It was our first experience with renting a tux, ordering the perfect corsage, making sure everything matched and on top of that, he and all of his friends came back here to the house after prom to hang out which was great with me! It made for a late night but I loved knowing where they were & that they were ok. It was also my son’s first experience of driving into downtown San Antonio along with his date and another couple but evidently he did great so I’m one relieved mama. I met up with some of the kids to take some pics before they headed to dinner before prom and I appreciate the opportunity they gave me to capture precious memories for our photo album & scrapbook! It was gusty & spitting rain but they were troopers & we made it work……..

What a stunning group of people I’d say! This is my son & his date……

Just a reminder that I am accepting sessions throughout the summer. We’ll be gone for a few weekends here & there but for the most part I’ll be around this summer so don’t hesitate to call & book your session! It’s SO nice to have the option of the studio this summer so we’ll have a nice, cool place to shoot. I’m going to be scheduling a weekend of boudior shoots later this summer so keep that in the back of your mind if you’ve been contemplating something like that. The images would make great birthday or Christmas gifts for your honey, I did this for my husband for our 20th wedding anniversary last year and they knocked his socks off (in a GOOD way thankfully!).

Wow. I’ve really been blessed to meet & work with some amazing young adults this school year! I know I probably say that each year but this group of people have been exceptionally remarkable. Class of 2011 has a LOT to live up to! Erin was referred to me by a good friend of hers who I worked with just a few weeks prior, I just love it when that happens, and if she looks familiar to you locals it’s because Erin is a current Schertz Sweetheart, Miss Tri-County to be exact! She and her mom met me at the studio and we spent a warm but comfortable evening walking around downtown having fun & taking pics and I was happy to be able to take some shots of the two of them together. Mom & Dads…..I HIGHLY recommend you come somewhat prepared for me to grab you and take a few shots of you with your kiddo because trust me, one day you’ll thank me for this! I know you might not feel quite put together or that your makeup is perfect but in the end that isn’t what really matters. I haven’t seen a bad mom/daughter shot yet! Two things are certain, I will probably hug you at some point during our time together and I’ll ALWAYS ask if you want to take pics w/your son or daughter! For example, look what we would’ve missed if mom would’ve said no…….

Meet Brianna – Senior Sneak Peek!

I’ve known Brianna for years and we were neighbors for a very long time so I was thrilled when her mom called and asked if I’d shoot her senior pictures! I’ve watched her grown into such a wonderful, respectful, beautiful young lady and I know she’ll go on to much success after high school. We met at the studio for a few shots then moved on outside despite it being quite breezy outside. She was a trooper and rocked it so thanks Brianna, enjoy your sneak peeks!!

I have a couple of seniors left to do and think that’ll be it for the season. It’s just getting too late before graduation and my own boys are keeping me busy with end of the school year activities but I am accepting bookings for other types of sessions that don’t need to be done lickety-split! Senior Sneak Peek for Katy!!

Hi All! Nope, I haven’t fallen off the edge of the Earth I promise, have just been busy with business and life in general…….baseball games, band concerts, garage sales, painting the studio and of course photo sessions! I try not to go this long without posting but something had to go on the back burner and unfortunately this was it but I promise to make up for lost time. It’s nice because as we’re in the midst of high school senior season I’ve also been doing other types of sessions as well to keep things interesting so get ready for a blogging frenzy here soon and heck, I STILL haven’t posted photos from our trip to Mexico in FEBRUARY! Oh my, I truly am behind, aren’t I?!

I wanted to post some senior sneak peeks for some sweet new friends of mine, Katy & Tracy. They hired me without knowing me and I’m so grateful they did because we’ve become fast friends because of our mutual love on antiques and all things vintage! Tracy likes to hit estate sales & that’s something I’ve been wanting to do for the longest time so hopefully she can show me the ropes sometime and I’ll find out about all the fun and vintagey goodness I’ve been missing out on. Katy is graduating from Steele this year and is heading to Seguin to attend college so thankfully she won’t be too far away from home! Best of luck to you, Katy Beth, I wish you all the luck & happiness the world has to offer!!
