High school senior picture season is well under way this year and thankfully Mother Nature has been kind to us in the weather department so far! Our weather here in South Texas has been very warm and mild and we should even have Bluebonnets soon which is pretty early for us. My Spring calendar is filling up quickly and March is just about full but I do have plenty of April and May availability for my seniors so don’t miss out on booking YOUR senior session with me. You can contact me here through my website and I will get back to you right away! Enjoy the sneak peeks & go Knights!
I love to work with my brides at least a time or two before their wedding day whether it’s doing their engagement session, bridal session or best case scenario, both of them. That way we’ve worked together prior to their big day and we’re extremely comfortable with one another which makes for a more comfortable experience for everyone on the wedding day plus doing a bridal session gives brides a great opportunity to put on their wedding dress, have hair and make up done, put on accessories and do a trial run before their wedding day. If make up isn’t quite right or the shoes you thought you wanted to wear are incredibly uncomfortable, then you know what you want to change rather than having regrets on the big day and besides, who doesn’t love any reason to have their hair & makeup done?!! The sessions don’t take long and all of my brides are always so happy they did them so contact me if you are needing a bridal session done or if you are in search of your wedding photographer! My 2017 calendar is filling up but I do have plenty of Summer, Fall & Winter 2017 availability and am also booking 2018 weddings as well. Hope to hear from YOU!
The most lovely tartan plaid. Red roses & peonies. Bridesmaids in striped dresses & denim all in a row. Sharp-dressed men gathered around the groom. Family in town from near & far. A warm Fall day in the Texas Hill Country. Dinner, dancing & singing in one of the oldest dance halls in the state. S’mores & laughter by the fire. Enough conversation, togetherness & love to fill the place for days…….this is Alyrose & Mitchell’s wedding day…….
This Spring I was fortunate enough to attend the Sweetlight Collective Workshop which is put on by Skye Hardwick Edmonds who has long been one of my photographer inspirations. When she announced last year that she was holding a workshop at literally one of my FAVORITE places on the planet, The Prairie by Rachel Ashwell, I took the plunge and went for it since I hadn’t been to any sort of photography workshop or seminar for years. Skye & Round Top in the Spring were the magic combination that lured me in and I was thrilled to come home with new photographer friends, some much-needed motivation and plethora of pretty images to play with and add to my portfolio. It was also really great for me as it forced me to go outside of my box by shooting outdoors in the middle of the day in the bright sunlight, indoors with younger models and posing and setting up a styled shoot (which I LOVED!) plus we got to take a mini workshop on senior photography by the fabulous Spanki Mills. Whoa, is she ever amazing and talk about “shooting from the hip”……literally! I’d never seen anything like it yet she creates photographic magic. Just today, Skye announced her upcoming Texas Workshop which is going to be right here in my own San Antonio backyard which made me realize that I hadn’t posted more images from her Round Top workshop I attended yet so here we go…….here are some of my favorites from the hundreds of images I took that weekend. Enjoy and definitely check Skye out, her style is beyond amazing and hopefully you’ll be seeing me with her in Boerne!!
Do you have a high school senior who only needs and wants a few digital images to use for yearbook ads, graduation announcements or wallet prints? Well then do I have the solution for you! I am now offering a quick & painless 30 minute photo session that’s taken in one local location in one outfit and for $200 you will get 12-15 digital images that will come with a print release and can be printed up to an 8×10″ size. I also offer add-ons to these mini session such as wallet prints and gift prints if you would love to have lovely professional prints of your seniors images to display in your home or include in their grad announcements or thank you notes. These sessions are typically great for senior guys and I haven’t had one complain yet that the session was too long or that it wasn’t nearly as painful as they thought it’d be so contact me now to book your senior’s photo session so that will be one more thing that you can check off of your lengthy to-do list!
Ok, so turning 50 isn’t easy. I’m not gonna lie. I was NOT really looking forward to it at ALL even though I normally love it when my birthday rolls around each year but this year? Blah. So……I decided to plan some things for my big day that I actually would look forward to, one of which was a fun photo session. I usually DREAD being on the front of a camera, not behind it as usual, but I just decided that this milestone deserved to be documented even though I’m going through this funky sort of pre-menopausal frumpy bloat phase but what can you do?! I had noticed a few adult cake smash sessions on Pinterest but hadn’t seen anyone yet who had done this type of session for their 50th birthday, mostly younger girls were doing them for their 30th, so I thought “what the heck…..why not?!!” I began to gather up some cute props to use in my shoot, made myself a cute tank to wear, bought a sassy pink tutu from the Junk Gypsies, dusted off my leopard print cowboy boots, gathered up some obnoxious rhinestones and pulled it all together so the next step was to find the photographer. I posted a pic of some props I had found for my shoot on Instagram and posed the question of who wanted to shoot the session for me and thankfully Robbin at http://soblessedfamilyphotography.com/ replied that she’d be happy to shoot it for me! She’s normally the master of newborn photo shoots so doing something different and working with someone who will actually stay still and do what you ask them to do sounded fun and appealing to her so we met up at a park on a warm, I mean, like, REALLY warm, September evening and just sort of went for it and had a blast together! Let me know if YOU would like to shoot a photo session like this to document a special milestone in your life because they’re a blast and a fun reason to get all dolled up! I will even help you pull the props together if you’d like because to me, that’s one of the best parts of something like this. Interested? Intrigued?? Leave me a comment or message me and let’s chat! I’ll forever be grateful to Robbin for being willing to do this for me and that I’ll have these images to document this time of my life when I am happy, sassy, fifty and fabulous!!
